Interesting question. I know when I bid on an item, I put my highest bid for that moment. So if I were bidding on this item I'd actually enter let's say 1999 credits. By doing that, when you enter 509 as your bid, you are automatically and immediately outbidded by me. I'm sure others may bid this way also. I don't do anything on my own auction except set up the starting bid. After that I have no influence on how the bidding goes. I hope this answers your question.
