There should be a letter stamped on the left side on the bottom of the base plate and a number on the right side. If so what are these?

Inside it says Pat. Nos On Pkg. Underneath, it says Reg US Pat Off on the top and Gillette and Made in USA on the bottom.

This razor would be 1940's when there were no date codes for awhile
