Description

The listing, Silky Red milkweed seeds (10 ct) has ended.

My gorgeous Silky Red milkweed plant just seeded so I thought I'd harvest some and share! I bought milkweed to cultivate monarch caterpillars-- it is their only source of food as a caterpillar and they are becoming endangered because of lack of it! So be a butterfly's hero and plant some milkweed in your garden today. :)

All Listia rules apply, free shipping to US. I don't know if the plant/seeds are organic.

Also known as Arizona milkweed or Mexican milkweed. The photos are of a monarch caterpillar/butterfly I bred myself on my milkweed plant. It's such an amazing thing to watch!
Questions & Comments

Well, I had several of the regular milkweed I. My garden this past summer and I let them go to seed, got several pods with tons of seeds, but I love the ones your selling too, so pretty, but I've not seen those kind in this state myself. Would love to have the variety of milkweed in my gardens this summer for the butterflies!

Well I'm sure it will be fine if you have had other kinds successfully! It really is a beautiful variety, I am very happy to have it! I will be listing quite a few auctions in the future as well.

Would these survive Minnesota?

That's a great question, I do not know! Maybe if you plant it in a pot and bring it inside during frost? Both of my plants are potted and they have nourished butterflies with no problem :) it just depends on your intentions!
