Echinacea is a plant that is just as useful as it is beautiful. Purple cone flower, as it is sometimes known as, is one of the most widely used medicinal herbs for immunity support. It's also quite prolific and very very robust, and as such decided to run amok all over my yard this year. The flowers and seedheads are now dry, so I cut off the seedheads to keep it under control - it direct sows quite easily.

Just break it up (using gloves, these things are very strong) over raked moist soil, and in no time you'll have enough echinacea to keep your yard colorful and your immunity strong all summer long.
