Description

The listing, 2010 Mazda 4-Button Switchblade Flip Key has ended.

Here is a OEM switchblade flip key from a 2010 Mazda 3S (FCC ID# BGBX1T478SKE12501SKE125-01). Its in brand new condition, I got it when the vehicle was brand new and never used it. The Key is still in it, if you need only the remote portion you can easily install your key and program to your vehicle. If you need the key itself, you will need to buy an uncut replacement. I do not know exactly what models it is compatible with, please research to ensure compatibility

FCC ID: BGBX1T478SKE12501SKE125-01

IC: 662F-SKE12501

To locate the FCCID# on your current key remote, you will need to flip up the blade. Look inside about half way down where the blade rests when it is closed and you will see a small black plastic piece. Use a screwdriver and push in the piece and at the same time pull up on the top part. You will see FCCID# to find out if it matches your key.

I work for Mazda as a sales consultant, I advise you to not rid yourself of this because you lose your other one you have a problem. these cost upwards of $300 to replace because they are chipped for that specific car and cannot be reprogrammed.

your partially correct, these keys cant be reprogrammed. But the vehicle CAN be, see you actually tell the vehicle to accept the key, not the key to the vehicle. a simple google search will clear up any concerns. I pulled the FCC ID BGBX1T478SKE12501SKE125-01. These are selling used on ebay and programming instructions are very easy to come by. As a car salesman how would you know? Dealers have a history of saying this sort of thing so they can charge $80-90 to program a key, and it takes about 2 minutes start to finish. If no one wants it, I'll sell it on ebay

Who would put a key to their vehicle up for auction? seriously?

obviously you are and i see that comment dripping with sarcasm. And not sure why you hid my comment - it's true if you no longer have the vehicle and traded it at a dealership they will gladly take the spare and pass it along to the new owner or just send it to the new owner they will need a spare eventually and it would save them the money of having to order it from the dealership. As a car sales consultant we do know that as do our techs. And why would people attempt to do this on their own and risk screwing something up instead of just taking it to the dealership and having them do it.

I actually am an automotive technician, I have had this key for a year or two. I got it at a shop I used to work for, the car was totaled. when it was picked up by the insurance company, the wrecker driver left the key behind. it has been in my toolbox every since, I figured someone could get better use of it and avoid having to waste their money at the dealer

or you could just give it to the parts department
