I myself have fallen into the consumption with Benzoyl Peroxide in my second year of high school. In my opinion:

It works, but doesn't. It cleared my skin beautifully, I did not have to wear makeup at all. But after 4 months or so, my skin started to become dry and overtime the acne came right back.

I'm not sure if my skin became ''immune'' to the active ingredients but I can say that it works, but just wasn't for me.
