Description

The listing, COMPAQ PRESARIO LAPTOP, WITH DISKS AND BAG has ended.

Up for auction is my Older Laptop from Compaq running Windows 98SE. Everything works on it. I recently cleared the hard disk with the OEM recovery disk so you will get it ready to go. I have included a PS2 mini-mouse and carry bag. It also has the original manuals and paperwork. Shipping will be the exact cost determined by USPS or UPS ONLY. (I DO NOT ACCEPT PAYPAL for shipping payment). Ask any questions, I check the auctions daily and will respond within 24 hours usually. Please help me out - I am trying to get enough credits for Xmas gift for my family! Take care and thanks, Dave...

ok, when the winner sends me his address, I will let him know the actual cost. But, if the cost goes over $19.00, I will pickup the extra cost.

A laptop with all the fixings and you're complaining about $20! Wow. You should consider that a steal! Great auction. :)

I hate to admit it, but I'm stupid when it comes to computers. With that being admitted, how old is this? Could you use wifi? My daughter wants a laptop, but right now that seems completely out of reach! This is the only tingshe has really asked for Chistmas!

Since the computer comes with windows 98SE and it has a 3.5" floppy disk drive, I am guessing that the computer was produced between 1998 and 2000. It does not have wifi but if you buy a wireless buscard for the PCMCIA slot, you might be able to get internet. It also has a phone jack for the 2400 baud modem.

Yes, thank you dream_princess! The auction is not over. I have seen actions go on the very last minute go crazy with bidders trying to get it. I tried last minute bidding on auctions and it get I personally get caught up in the bidding excitement and bid higher than I wanted.

According to USPS.com, the calculated price is $15.27 = 10-day parcel post. But that is with no insurance and no tracking.

Yike, 7 lbs, Hey in the day we didn't know any better. LOL. We were just happy that we could take our PC with us. LOL. This may be old, but it still has a market . I'm watching may bid again if my credits from closed auction come in in time. Best of luck to you.

Thanks. Also, you have to add a few pounds more for the manuals, mouse, CD's and the carrybag. Then add the weight of the box and packing materials. Just to be clear, don't go by 7 lbs as the total weight of the package. :-)

All valid points about the USPS option. Just passing on something that may have been useful. I agree it's better to pay a little extra to be assured that it's safely on it's way.

hahaha It was popular in it's day... I have had no problems and it lasted a long time. I thought about keeping it because I have old programs "that still do the job" rather than buying the latest and greatest computer and software. I also thought it might be good to place at my work, hook it up to the network and only use it as a music player hooked up to a sound system for our wherehouse... The possibilites are endless for a computer that is self contained with a few modern conviences such as USB and a PCMCIA cardslot.

Wow this is old, lol. I think jesus used this to send emails to invite everyone to the last supper. Just so everyone knows, you can get a USB to RJ-45 adapter, that will let you go online. It just turns your usb port into a ethernet port. Its an adapter, so you can take it off when you want to just have a usb port. Or get a 4 port usb hub, and the usb to rj45 ethernet adapter, and you can have both at the same time. The hub is like $10 tops, and the adapter is the same cost. Cheap money for an "upgrade". This should be in a museum.

Yes, this laptop is over 10 years old. Since technology moves so fast, even technology that is 6 months old is obsolete.
