I never did the diet part. I don't have the willpower to be a diet kinda gal, I guess. I did and continue to do zumba, however, and have found it to be very effective.
It's not very long. It's very much just a demo. It covers a few basic moves that are the foundation of most zumba workouts. It is not a workout dvd though.
Fanned! LOVE Zumba! It is to Zumba that I attribute relief from some of the biggest health problems in my life including diabetes and arthritis. It is something that you can keep up with because it isn't like exercising. It's just fun! I have this book, but know that it is worth bidding on. Good luck, all! :-)
