Description

The listing, You just gotta see this, Large*** "Swan"*** Gourds Seeds has ended.

Look at this.
Large Gourd,
Looks like a swan,
'necks' grow in several positions, seeds are huge.
I hollowed this one out by making a hole in the rear facing side and scooping the seeds out, will make a nice bird house after it dries and hardens. Or a frog hut or interior / exterior decor. They sold at a local farm stand, FAST...
This is for 5 seeds, credits from 100 up to 200.
with every additional 200 credits bid,
I will add 7 more seeds.
as you can see, I chose to hollow out the spot where it had laid on the ground, had I grown it--- I would have made sure to train it to grow upright , sitting on the bottom ,helping to ensure any brownish area from maturing on the ground would not be on the sides........
oh, well.....
it still is interesting and will make great birdhouse.
once auction is over, I may wait a few days to ensure seeds are dry before I ship...
I will use delivery confirmation and will only ship to Listia confirmed address. Winner MUST send to me so I can ship, Please respond to Listia's notice that you won immediately , that way I can communicate with you about shipping, etc.
*** I will not put them in a plastic zip bag, instead- paper.

Too many times i have received seeds from well meaning sellers , who put seeds in little zip bags, AND
Moisture from the seeds, (whether they were dry or not dry enough) , had molds starting inside those little zip bags by the time they were delivered to me..
so,
paper is best for seeds....

here is a website to see one painted up
marthasgourds.com/gallery/swandetails.php

and a piece about drying them
swan gourd should last quiet awaile for your eyes to look at it. As long as it stays "hard" it will remain good to keep and dry natually. If it starts to get soft, mushy then get the seeds from it, if they are white seeds then they are probaly no good, you want them to be a little tan to even brownish in color. Once this fantastic gourd of yours starts to to color from drying or getting moldy, which it will do, as long as it is still "hard" keep it. At this time stick it in your garage or outer building some where and wait tell spring and check on it, it may be dry then. It will look ugly at this point, you will have to scrub the mold off. You can then cut a hole in the side, make a bowl and harvest the seeds or leave whole and make something fantastic out of that gourd

tho- I am sure mine will dry fine even with hole precut and hollowed out prior to drying...

An acquaintance had some of these in her trees as bird feeders. Nice. Fanned and watching.
