You have GREAT listings and have the making of a SUPER Listian! Welcome!

I hope you don't mind, but I'm going to give you some advice. When I see people with potential here, I try to help them be successful because I want you to stick around!

First, photos are THE most important selling tool on Listia. Try taking your photos on a WHITE background (instead of black). Do not use a flash, instead use a small desk lamp (preferably with daylight color bulb, like Reveal brand or a craft lamp) and move the lamp around to get nice light and shadow on your items. Take a BUNCH of photos and post as many as you need to show all the detail of the item, the nice beads you used on it, etc.

Also, be sure to hold your camera far enough away so the objects are in focus. Most cameras have to be held at least four inches away, some cameras closer to 12 inches away, to get a clear photo (be sure to use your macro or closeup setting too). Then crop the photos with software. I use HP Photosmart, which is a free download. The software can be a little irritating to learn to use, but once you do you can edit each photo in seconds.

If you get one really sharp, clear photo, you can also edit it to produce multiple closeup photos of details of your item. Again, be sure to play with the light and shadow--once you've gone to all that trouble be sure to take LOTS of photos so that when you are editing them, you have lots of choices.

If the colors seem off, try playing with your camera's lighting settings. Sometimes setting it to "beach" or "snow" or something like that will give you better color rendering.

If your item is primarily black or white, but shows up with odd greenish cast (or other colors) you can also desaturate the photo ... i.e. remove the color. I do this with most of my photos of silver items. The software isn't really that great, but does let you adjust color, contrast, brightness, etc. to help the object pop and look more appealing.

Finally, choose your FIRST photo carefully. Listia does this odd cropping when you post photos, so be sure the most impressive photo will look good when the listing posts. Until you have bids you can go in and change the photos, but unfortunately you can't "move" them .. you have to delete and add in the order you want. I've asked Listia numerous times to make the photos so you can move the order of them, but so far they haven't done that. They are definitely having photo loading issues lately ... often when I list the photos are DUPLICATED so I have to go in and remove the duplicates ... so watch for that!

thank you so much for the advise. I will definately work on the photos. I usually do what you are talking about in my listings on eBay, but my camera took a dump last week. So I have been using my phones camera. It is a 8 meg pixel camera so it usually takes great pics but as you noticed not good enough for this kind of photo. I am bidding on some cameras now, so my next set of pics should be better... thanks again.
