FREE: Very Old US Proprietary stamp from 1898, 1 1/4c violet

Up for bids here is a very old US stamp-- this is a 1 1/4c Violet Proprietary stamp from 1898. I think it is Scott catalog number RB25. It is in USED condition with with blue cancellation; can't see the date but seems quite nice for such an old stamp.

This week I am listing some very old stamps from the USA including some quite valuable ones, so DO have a look! My stepdad (who passed a few years back) accumulated stamps, and this is from his collection-- although it's more like a giant pile of messy album pages and envelopes. I don't know much about US stamps so I'll describe them as best I can.

I think people should have fun bidding on stuff-- that's what auctions are all about! So the starting bids for my stuff will always be is FIVE credits, and we go from there, no matter HOW valuable something might be. Postage is FREE to the USA, which (at current rates) is worth quite a bit, by itself!
