Description

The listing, LAST ONE! Loose Leaf Lettuce Seeds - Red & Green Leaved - Unknown Variety - (100 seeds?) has ended.

These are seeds I saved from lettuce plants I bought locally, as seedlings.

That's why I don't know the exact variety name.

I let the plants bolt because I wanted seed from them, so I wouldn't have to buy plants again this year.

Just a few plants, gave me thousands of seeds. I don't need that much, so I'm posting some on here.

The winner will receive 1/4th a TEAspoon of seeds.

This is a decent amount of seed, probably around 100 seeds because they're small seeds.

However, I did NOT count them, but there's plenty to work with, and even succession plant, if you want to.

Are they edible lettuce?

Of course! :) They're very good. I kept harvesting a few leaves, even though they bolted (started putting up a flower stalk).

After I harvested the seeds, I gave the spent plants to my rabbits.

You might be thinking of kale, which has edible types, and "ornamental" types.

As far as I know, all lettuces are edible.

There are many, many varieties of lettuce, that are never seen in grocery stores. Some called deer tonque, speckled lettuce, oak leaf lettuce, and burgundy lettuces, one called Ice Queen, etc. They are all edible.

Humm, How exotic! I figured, that it might be Red Sails, or Red Fire.

I didn't want to chance guessing, so I just said it's unknown.
