Description

The listing, Vintage Monopoly tokens #2 has ended.

This Scotty and Elephant are from a WWII edition of the game. They are unique and look like they are carved from bone or ivory, though my research indicates that they are composite plastic.
Know anyone who has a Scotch Terrier? This would be perfect gift.
Know anyone who collects elephants? There are a lot of them out there. This token is beautiful.

Remember to have fun with it.
That's what toys are about.
Thanks for looking, commenting and bidding.

Hi there,
I have to ask, where did you find the information for the above referenced items?

There are a few references to the lack of metal available during WWII, and Parker Brothers going to composite during that time, 1941-45.

There are other references through out the internet. Some reference a pink elephant (which this is not) others do not specify the color.

I am very interested in collectables myself. I am trying to save such items for my granddaughters, as I haven't a fortune to leave them.

Did you do some research on this or is this your opinion based on my marvelous close-up?

In my research, prior to isting these items, I found that very similar elephants (often specified at "pink," but not always) were included in some early versions, but yes, since I have to rely on internet searches, piecing together fact and opinion, I always encourage bidders to do their own research prior to bidding, especially on something vintage, collecible or labeled "antique." Also, an important consideration is always that the item i FREEEEEEEEEEEE!
Thanks for your comment. I wish you the best, in all your auctions, as bidder or lister.

I really liked them, too... but I have to look to child-proof my home all over again. My eldest daughter is due to have her first in May. Thanks for your comment.

Hey it's still a mystery to me where they come from...... as is why anyone would use a scary clown for an avatar.

I used to think clowns were really awesome. I loved Emmett Kelly and Red Skelton's hobo characters. And I even got to see a performance of the great mine, Marcel Marceau, but alas we lost him in 2007 and the others long before. Take your threesquirts to a performance with clowns and get back to me with their reaction.I would be curious as to a contemporary child's reaction. Heck, when my kids, al four, were little, we used to refer to the store Santa as a clown. It was less scary for them.
