Good Morning!

First I must say that I have never seen another Purse like this before !

It belonged to one of my Mother's Sisters. Laurette ? Paulette ? or Jeanette ? Not sure ???

They all resided , along with 2 other Sisters, Dorothy & Shirley, in a large, rambling Victorian styled Home in a small, but bustling Town in Central Connecticut, in the 1930's, through the 1950's . Being a short ( about 2 hour) Train ride from New York City, they had access to the most new & much sought after fashion trends.
They would save up for weeks & weeks & then finally take that Train ride, getting off @ Grand Central Station & would go Shopping!! Such Fun!!

I was fortunate to get a hold of some of the Goodies from those fashion loving Ladies when that Fabulous Home was Sold & most of the Sisters married & moved on, & Grandma Blanche & Grandpa Honorious downsized to a smaller, more Modern house.

This Purse is in remarkably Good shape for it's age & is totally wearable Today! I believe the Handle to be Rattle Snake & the sides are probably Python or Lizard ??

The Interior is Black cloth & also in EXCELLENT, nearly Antique condition. There is one side slit to hold a Mirror & Comb. The Brass latch works as intended, with a stout "click" when snapped shut ;0)

Measurements are 11.5" long x 5" tall with an opening size of 4". The handle has a 5" drop.

They don't make these anymore so here's your chance to get a piece of Mid-Century Fashion.
