The listing, AWESOME Piece of Native Copper has ended.

Here's another rock specimen I found at the flea mkt. I didn't know what it was, but when I picked it up, I was surprised at how heavy it was. It appears lacey and light, but it is probably a couple of ounces.

I live in utah, and we still mine copper here. If you fly over my state you can see the bottom of Kennocott copper mine. It's amazing and everyone that went to grade school here has made a field trip to the mine and left with the coolest things given to us by them. People get really mad that we are mining, (people that don't live here) and it's been providing copper for a lot longer than I have been here, and I'm 50! Copper is very heavy!!!!!

My husband visited Kennocott on a "field trip" when he was in college. Part of the reason why he became a geologist. I hope to visit it and a silver mine. Think it would be SO interesting.
