Questions & Comments
I've made the fourth one (fall colors plaid looking afghan) four times for myself and three different people. It is beautiful! I've done it in blues, all shades of white, peach, gray and white, and in the colors shown. each one was absolutely beautiful! it is worked in strips and is very simple to make and because they're strips you can take it with you to work on anywhere you go.
Something about those lace bedspreads remind me of childhood. My mom must have had something similar. I know my grandmother used a lot of cotton and made some remarkable bedspreads and table cloths. I have some McCalls crochet books from the 60s. the pages are very brittle and yellowed which really adds to the nostalgia of the books. Also some baby saques and mittens and socks pamplets. really cool. they may even end up on this site. I'll just copy what I want to keep.
i know same here..my mother had a white lace bedspread that i loved she also had a bobble one..my mom would make so much from cotton. she even added on knitted lace to our pillow cases..i just love those older books..hey have a great day.. husg
