LUV this I have adopted from the humane society my last three doggies, my Jackson is a 4 yr old Jack Russell that someone threw on the street at 3 months in Alabama and I drove 4 hour after seeing his little face on the internet through petfinder to get him and he is the 4th love of my life. 1. God, 2. Husband, 3. Son 4 Baby Jackson! Well 2 and 3 are tough depend on the day and their attitude...LOL

I knew you were my kind of "GURL". I volunteer at a shelter here in Miami and you should hear some of the outrageous surrender stories people come up with for dumping off their beautiful loving fur babies.

I love to hear comments like that. I volunteer in a shelter here in Miami and it's hard to see just how many are not getting adopted. :(

Thanks for listing this. I didn't know you volunteer at the shelter. Thank you for doing that!!!! It really is important and of course heartbreaking. That is why I began Seniors for Seniors here in Maryland. Since the majority of cats that get adopted are kittens. Cats that are four years or older usually do not get adopted. When a cat can live to 15 - 20 years these cats should not be called "seniors". So we try our best to get cats off of "death row" and place them with seniors or anyone who wants to adopt or Foster. We began a little over a month ago and have placed 8 cats. I hope more people will consider to adopt or Foster a older cat. They will become your best friend (and boss)!!!!!!!!
