One CAN ( i have) take the key with a lock (deadbolt) to lowes or home depo. The stores here are more than happy to re key your lock to the key, FREE
Thus saving you the cost of anew key/ and cutting costs. I have done this many, many times with rental units i have.
It Has NOT been used,,is NOT advertised as a "Key blank"
