Description

The listing, BEAUTIFUL SOAP STONE MORTAR AND PESTLE SET(WICCAN/PAGAN has ended.

I have finally decided to let this go.....it has taken me awhile :) I love this piece....and I know its new owner will as well...

This mortar and pestle is made out of soap stone and was made in India. It is very heavy for its size.....It has been used and does show signs of use on the inside bowl area and on the pestle end.

the Pestle measures about 3 inches long
the mortar is about 2 1/2 inches tall and the top measures 3 inches wide

This would make a wonderful addition to your witches cabinet or to anyone would would like to have one :)

Fanned and Watching :) Beautiful set! I've been using a wooden set for a year now (got it at a yard sale for $2) but it takes a LOT longer to grind with wood than stone lol

I would love to have this! I had a beautiful really dark colored one just like this but my ex-boyfriend's mother threw it out! I was heart-broken, I really love using them for cooking as well as craft. They really help release hidden flavors! :) fanned & watching!

Great! Thanks for getting back to me so quickly!I'm definitely keeping an eye on this!I only ever used soapstone for carvings before,so I was curious how well it worked for grinding!Sounds like it should be fine!

No problem :) I always try to get back to people as quick as I can, I have used a wooden one before and I would prefer this one to a wooden one i find that this one got the job done a little quicker. :) Thank you for checking out my auction !

I too have a wooden set,but it is difficult to work with certain items using just that!I know soapstone is a relatively soft stone(I've used it to carve fetishes in the past)so how does it hold up when grinding seed pods, etc. that have a harder consistency?

It's amazing to see how open minded people are across the states. I'd love to have one, but since I don't practice I think it's be better to let someone who would put it to better use win it. I'd just use it to cook with lol. They make the best ground coffee ever! I believe it's a beautiful set though.

I have a terra cotta mortar with a wooden pestle & my son has loved it for years but he wants one that is not any part of wood. This would be a great Christmas gift for him. Thank you for deciding to let this go. I know I would be better if I let more things go myself.

Fanned and watching! I have a mortar and pestle that a friend gave me when I mentioned I wanted one for grinding herbs when I cook but it is not a smooth finish like this item. It literally looks like someone started chiseling away at a piece of stone. I have never used it because the coarsness of them just makes the rock crumble and I don't want people chipping teeth when they eat my food!! lmao
