I would just like to note that St. John's Wort can cause you to be photosensitive, and in some it can cause a severe photo-dermatitis, if you take it internally or if you use as a topical. So if you use it cover up or stay out of the sun a few days.

Thank You to the above fellow Listia person who has informed me that it is illegal under the USDA Noxious Weed ACT that it is technically illegal for me to ship this seed to the following states: CA, CO, HI, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, WA, and Wyoming! I find this rather amusing of the government to think that it's going to prevent all of these different "weeds" from taking over, in places where they have been growing in the wild for hundreds of years. So, I guess this means that if you live in California as I do, and all of the other states listed, you can find it and wildcraft it yourself as I have. I grow mine in containers anyhow, so it's not like I'm scattering it all over the place to reseed in the ground.. I am just saying...The Chinese have used this herb for thousands of years....
I make the oil you see in the picture and have used it for pain, for years, is wonderful!
Here is the very extensive list from our government that was put together by "government funded scientists" http://www.ams.usda.gov/AMSv1.0/getfile?dDocName=STELPRD3317318
As for the photosensitivity yes, it can be an issue with some people, so there is a cautionary about it. I have never had a problem with using the oil topically, causing any dermatitis from sun exposure, but each person is different. Most St. John's Wort, over the counter, contains this cautionary, especially if used orally for depression, which I do not recommend people do with this herb if grown themselves, unless they are a trained herbalist.
