Baptisia or “False Indigo,”
Easy to grow and long lived, baptisias have long tap roots that enable them to survive long, dry summers. But make sure you carefully select the permanent location of your baptisia when planting, since successful transplanting is difficult to achieve.
Their tall height makes placing baptisia at the back of a border a good choice. There it will make a wonderful backdrop for other perennials and groundcovers.
Baptisias will reach three to four feet in height and grow three to four feet wide, ultimately reaching the size of a shrub. They produce colorful spikes of pea-like flowers in blue that appear in late spring. As always more information can be found if you google.

I usually ship the next day but please remember I have a family outside of Listia so it may take me one extra day or two to ship. If you cannot wait for the mail please do not bid.
