Grow Cornflower Blues in full sun to partial shade. They will do well in average soils, and tolerate dry soil conditions. Soil should drain well. These fast growing plants will germinate in about 10-15 days. The first blooms will appear about 45-50 days after they sprout. Final spacing of plants should be about 18" apart. They will tolerate some crowding. Once your plantings are established, they will produce a burst of flowers, then slowdown their production. Flowers will continue at a slow, regular pace, even after a light frost.
. These guys will grow to between 1 and 3 feet tall. Blue cornflowers are a cutting garden favorite, and they are one of the easiest flowers to dry for everlasting arrangements.
Fun fact… blue cornflowers were John F. Kennedy's favorite flower! I can so picture President Kennedy wearing a single blue ‘Boutonniere’ in his lapel!
Happy bidding! :)
