Description

The listing, ღ❤ღ Over 60 ORGANIC Catnip Seeds ღ❤ღ has ended.

Grow your own ORGANIC Catnip! I'll send you over 60 seeds to share with your friends and family!

These seeds came from plants that were planted; cared for; and hand-harvested by me! NO fertilizer; pesticides or chemicals of any kind were used. They grow tall and strong!

BASIC INFORMATION:

Nepeta cataria, is a hardy perennial herb - that means it will keep growing, year after year! - of the Mint Family, with pungent fragrance which is highly attractive and exciting to cats.

PLANTING:

Start seeds indoors prior to the last frost. Plant by sprinkling seeds on soil and then dust with a bit of soil on top. Water well. Catnip seeds will germinate in soil in approximately 7 to 10 days

Catnips grow well in almost any soil, but does best in a moderately rich loam that is well-draining. (I put mine on the side of the driveway - full sun - and it only got a moderate amount of rain!)

Catnip grows from 3-4 foot tall, but I trim mine whenever it seems to get 'out of hand' and it just grows better!

MAINTENANCE:

Cut out last year's spent stems in early spring, which creates room for new ones. Cutting the plants completely down after the first bloom set will allow enough time for the plant to completely regrow and bloom again.

OTHER INFO:

These seeds are from a plant that is two years old.

By the way, the leaves are full and beautiful! Sturdy stalks, your cat (or friends with cats) will thank you!

*Auction is only four days! Bid now, you never know if you'll get lucky!

*Listia rules apply

*I only mail to VERIFIED Listia addresses.

*Since I don't drive, I rely on my husband to mail this. Please be patient. (Thanks!)

*This will arrive in a plain envelope sent via the post office.

Oh, these plants are so fragrant!

Happy Bidding!

How long does it take to mature?
And can you use this plant for tea-brewing?:)

I am not sure, because I began with a plant, but as soon as it got seeds those plants grew everywhere the following year so they sprung up pretty quickly! As long as you don't pull out the roots you will continue to have leaves to brew! Yes, you can brew these! In fact, I make catnip bubbles from the tea, but that's another story. Just a cupful of leaves (you don't even have to dry them) will produce a strong pot.

Can you grow them inside? Like in a small room?

I would imagine that you could, but you'll have to look up directions for it online as I'm not familiar with how to do it. Once you get these seeds, if your bid wins that is, you can sprinkle them in a sunny location outside. I've always grown them like that. In college, I planted them in an alley and no one knew except me and my boyfriend! tee-hee!
