I am so excited to present to the Listia community this 100% genuine, natural purple amethyst necklace! Yeah, I know, ya'll must be thinking that I'm crazy for listing this necklace (and maybe I am), but I recently hit 600 fans, and I recently had four friends join Listia, so I have reasons to celebrate! So, if you (or a loved one) like purple &/or amethyst, you are going to love this necklace!

I, personally, professionally tested several of the amethysts with a Presidium Gem Tester to ensure that they are genuine (please see the last 2 pics). Genuine marcasites are found in the Quartz/Amethyst/Citrine family, and my tester placed the gemstones (all of the gemstones...yeah, I tested all 77 of them) in the necklace within this category, which means that they are all 100% genuine amethyst! The necklace weighs 1.4 oz. (please see the 2nd pic). According to google, 1 oz. = 141.747616 carats! I estimate that the necklace's hardware (thread, clasp, and extender) weigh 0.2 oz., although I'm sure that it's actually less. Thus, 1.2 oz. x 141.747616 = 170.097 (I rounded down to get 170 carats).

The necklace has a total length of about 18", which includes the 2" extender. I do not see a stamp on the necklace's silver clasp and extender.

Comes from a smoke-free, hairy pet-free home (I have a snake and gecko, but they can do no harm : ) ).

I had so much fun, but I totally wasn't dressed appropriately to be dancing like crazy in stifling hot club.....I was wearing shearling fur lined boots and two short-sleeved sweater tops, which were really hot (like, physically too hot).
