The listing, "Antigue" Rose Gold (partial?) Watch Fob has ended.
Ok! I am a little out of my league on this piece. I tested it and it's gold but I have no idea what the K is, nor do I know what time period it's from. The craftmanship on this is something I've never seen the likes of. Each link appears to have been done meticulously and indivdually by true artist hands and a very 'masterful' maker of fine jewelry. I've literally spent many a time just looking at this piece, trying to figure out how the 'creator' accomplished making each individual. (Would give anything to know it's history!) such incredible patience... Ok, enough of my blabbering...hopefully, whom ever wins this can shine some light on this piece.
I put partial in the title because it seems shorter thn most fobs. It's only aprox. 8" long and weighs 3.8g. It has the clasp on the end and appears to have some sort of markings on the clasp, (even the clasp is unusual)but can't make it out. The gold has a rose tint to it, almost like Black Hills gold...but don't have an 'inkling' of where this gold may have come from.
Sure wish I had more answers than questions, but maybe some of Listia's more knowledgable folks can shed some light on this for us 'novices'. It'll prob. be sold as scrap gold, though. I'm prob. the only one who thinks that would be a shme-lol. Honesty, can't think of one thing it might be used for.
Thanks for taking a peek at it.
Wishng you all good times for the coming holidays. Happy 'Turkey' Day and a Merry Christmas to you and yours.
