I dont think they are plastic, if they are its would be a higher quality poly resin type material. and the only reason I know that is because I use to work in that field. I wish I could give you a better answer, but I do believe its very durable. thank you for your interest

I didn't mean that in a bad way, (I always forget about resin material), I just meant, it's not a shiny material like a shell, correct? I'm interested, but only if they aren't "shiny".

They can be shiny it really just depends on the finish that is applied.for example I'm fixing to list a shell necklace but it's not shiny. Does that help

What are the hearts made of? I'm just asking because they seem to reflect your flash. Are they shiny like a shell of some kind or are they a plastic that wouldn't normally look that shiny?
