Description

The listing, Stunning Sapphire and Topaz Gold Ring + GIN Bonus! has ended.

I won this ring on Listia but am relisting - it's a stunning, regal piece but it's just not my style.

The large gem is a lab created sapphire. Some of the photos show smudges on the stone - these are fingerprints, not marks on the stone. The stone is GORGEOUS. There are three small round sapphires on each side of the middle stone and 5 round white topaz over and under the rows of 3 sapphires.

The ring is stamped 14kt but it is not solid. There are some imperfections in the plating on the back of the band if you look at the ring closely, in bright light - I tried to picture it but I couldn't; the imperfections are quite small and at the back of the ring.

The ring is a size 8.25-8.5.

GIN includes free shipping to Canada (without GIN shipping is free to US) and a free, surprise bonus ring (slightly smaller at about a 7.75 or 8)! Nothing too valuable (I think it's .925 silver), but is very pretty indeed, and isn't cheap costume jewelry (just don't expect gold and diamonds).

Hello
I live across the river and I would like to know why you are charging for shipping in Canada, but not the US? Shouldn't it be free both ways?

Thanks

I usually do it the other way around; free to Canada and small fee to US (if not free either way). Sometimes I switch it up. No real reason, I guess.

Very pretty ring and my birthstone. I would bid on it but it is way too big. I wear a 6. I learned the hard way about getting a big ring downsized. You loose alot of the gold. Whomever wins this I am sure they are going to love it. Do you list alot of jewelry? If so, I will definitley keep watching your auctions. Fanned you...good luck on your auction.

That, and I also recommend not resizing more than a size or or down, maaaybe 1.5. If you change the band shape more than that it can upset the settings and your stones may fall out. Plus this on isn't solid gold anyway - don't think it can be resized at all.

I used to list a lot but I've listed pretty much all of the jewelry I have that I don't want, so at this point I'm just re-listing the odd item I won that didn't quite work out.

did you get this item tested ?

Picture?type=square&access token=105469222550%7cd qfyki0ggnddypmnoq3ykmtsyq
No, it hasn't been tested. I am going by the stamp, how it looks visually, and what I was told about the item. I am reasonably familiar with jewelry and gemstones and am confident that the stones are lab created sapphires, topaz, and that the band is 14k gold plated or HGE (not filled).

Anyway stick to the small stuff. Sometimes you can list items that are heavy, but just list the shipping from the start in the description. If you get no bids, then at least you tried. You'd be surprised though because I had three people pay between $20-$35 for shipping because it was still a great deal even after paying stuff a hefty shipping fee. I guess I would too if it was a great deal.

My husband went a couple of weeks ago to the post office, and sent two pendants in one small rectangular gift box inside a small bubble envelope. It pushed through the envelope slot so it only cost the winner just over $2 instead of $6. I gave the winner the $4 back through PayPal and she was really happy about that. The box with the bubble envelope was over 2cm. Maybe your post office is ripping you off, I don't know.

Well, if someone from Canada wins without GIN and it costs less than $2 to ship, you can be sure I will refund the difference.

I just received a package from Vegas yesterday. The seller didn't even put this gorgeous ring in a proper ring box. You should see this ring, wow what a ring. I bought it with GIN 7200. The ring is OK and did not get damaged at all. She just bubble wrapped it and then in a package. You don't necessarily have to use a box.

I don't send rings in boxes, either. The stone itself is almost 2cm tall so even with minor bubble padding, it'll be over 2cm thick.

Yes you are right about the postage being expensive but if you ship small items under 13 oz it isn't that expensive. I tried to only ship jewelry in small bubbles envelopes. The shipping shouldn't be anymore than just over $2. If it is really thin, then just stamps need to be applied to an envelope. It is the bigger items that cost alot. I shipped a jacket, shoes, and boots, and the shipping ranged from $20-$32. That is crazy. It is the size and weight of the package that is a killer for postage.

Yeah, for smaller rings it is like that, but the larger ones - like this one - make it too big to be a small packet or whatever it's called, which has to be under 2cm thick. By the time you properly pack the ring so it ships safely, you're looking at more like 5-6$.

No worries. It's random, I know. I try to charge pittance sometimes to get a little something back. Canada Post is stupid expensive.
