Wood working tool. I believe it is for wood turning. It opens to the width of your piece of wood that you are copying. Basically, a measuring device. Made of medal. Measures 3 x 9 inches when folded.

This old school tool ...loggers use them to grab the fallen trees and also to grab them when they were floating them down river to mills! Learned that living in Aberdeen an old loggers town! Cool listing sweetie! :-)

This is too small to use on logs. The ends of the tongs are not sharp. There are small screws to tighten or loosen. I am really unsure exactly what the purpose of this item.

It could possibly be to pick up blocks of ice before there were refrigerators. The ice man would open a little door on the side of the house and put the block of ice to keep food cool.
Unfortunately, I get random items with no history or age. Maybe I should have listed it as a mystery item?
