Magical Uses: Balsam wood is carried to increase fertility and have vigorous old age, Gathered on Midsummer it is an awesome magical object, for if its possessor eats some every day it will make him or her immune to gunshots.

The bark is burned during the winter months to purify and cleanse the house. Scatter on the floor and it will drive away evil, and when burned, exorcise the area of negativity. Balsam is also used in cleansing baths, and is burned to reverse and send back spells.
Branches of Balsam are placed above or over the bed to keep sickness far away (or, if they weren’t placed in time, aid the ill). In Japan it is customary to place Balsam Branches over the door of the house to ensure continual joy within, for the leaves are evergreen.
A cross made of Balsam placed before the fireplace keeps evil from entering through it. Balsam is also used in money spells, and its sawdust is a base for incenses.

We recommend that the Balsam we sell be used as the base for incense. By adding oils it is quite easy to create potpourri of your own choice to fit the occasion. You can also steep Balsam by itself to aid in sleeping, or to calm your home.

How to Use:
The essence of this Balsam can be extracted by steeping some of the contents in a small pan, kettle or simmering pot designed for this purpose. Measure desired amount and cover with boiling water. Contents may be re-used if they are refrigerated. (Drain water before refrigerating.)
