Type 1 Standing Liberty Quarters were only minted in 1916 and 1917. The easiest way to identify a "no date" Type 1 is there are no stars under the eagle. (type 2 has 3 stars under the eagle) And the easiest way to tell a 1916 from a 1917 is how the robe fall next to the foot. If it attaches to the ankle, it's a 1916. If it curves up to the calf, it's a 1917.

Great obverse details but with the date worn off I would hazard a guess that this was someone's lucky pocket piece. (Coin was rubbed for good luck.) Common for the hard times of the era. Nice type coin & good luck!

I always check the dateless Standing Liberty Quarters closely. I haven't stumbled on a 1916 yet, but I won't stop looking. Thanks for checking out my auction.
