I (and some one else namely the high bidder) know what this is. Little Orphan Annie decoder pin. You would set in front of the radio and listen for a secret message from the Annie show and use this to de-code it. If you have ever seen the (Movie A christmas story) you will know what i'm talken about. altho very cool i'm watching another auction or i would throw more credits at.. Thanks and pull more cool things out of that box.... FBD

I looked it up a few days ago and realized what it was...I was hoping it would go unnoticed but I guess it was bound to be discovered. There are a lot of replicas out there as well, Mike Wolfe from American Pickers mentioned it in an episode about how there are so many little orphan annie decoder replicas out there and it's very hard to find an original. If this is real, it is in superb condition for being 70+ years old. This is also the exact year of pin that was used in A Christmas Story, and they were made from 1935-1941 until they coverted to paper decoders. Very cool auction - Wish I had more credits even if it might be a replica!
