Description

The listing, Ancient roman Gallienus Ant RicVp1 Asia Sol Standing Left 267AD has ended.

This coin is a bit rough. Looks a bit better in hand. A couple spots of silvering still exist. This coin has been re-patinaed using Jax. Mainly, when I got this, it was probably through the normal mob run channels. They would often use lye to be able to pick out the rare emperors. Lye eats the dirt, but if it soaks 3 seconds too long, also eats the protective patina, and leaves this rough surface. The Jax made the raw bronze black, and protects it from bronze disease, like rust on copper alloys. Jax just makes an artificial patina to protect the coin. It took me years to make connections to get farm fresh coins, so I have seen thousands of these lyed ones. But I will make this one cheap ;)

And yes, a large part of the ancient coin supply is actually headed by regional mobs, at least it used to be
