YES--THEY SMELL! LIKE VOMIT! It's true! The female Ginko Biloba Tree is a VERY odiferous tree! HOWEVER---the seed itself CAN produce a male OR female tree! I "wildcrafted" these seeds from a local tree here in Berkeley,Ca. There is soooo much info. on propagating these seeds that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you LOOK at the You Tube videos about these trees.These are ANCIENT trees---going back to the age of the dinosaurs PLUS they withstood the atomic bombing of Hiroshima Japan! PLUS they are absolutely GEORGEOUS! I will add more info. about these seeds(edit) as I have some time constraints now..Happy bidding!

I thought about my posting a little bit and I realized something! The actual seeds themselves don't smell---it's the female trees that do smell! So I thought it was best to clarify that! Anyways --- once again-- the seeds will grow into EITHER female or male trees.Happy bidding!

p.s.I cleaned up the seeds ---it's the fleshy yellow stuff that the seeds are enclosed in that smells like vomit.

The Ginkgo Biloba tree grew 145-200 million years ago so they are the oldest living tree species in the world! In China they are called "yin--kuo" hence the name Ginkgo.Also,they were planted near temples in all parts of the world.In addition,these trees are remarkably free of pests and diseases too.And, it is only when the tree blossoms that you will be able to tell the male from the female.

This tree does well in many temperate parts of the world---when their leaves turn they become a gorgeous golden color.
