Description

The listing, Purple Aeonium Succulent has ended.

This auction is for 2-3 cuttings (about 1"-2" in diameter) of this amazing succulent. You can grow it as a'tree' and/or use rossets in succulent arrangements or if you are in mild climate, use it in your flower beds. I They grow very fast and root easily. They need bright light to get the deep purple shade. With lower light, they will have more green in the middle of the rosette, which I think is very attractive too.

You will get cuttings, not leaves or petals. Meaning that you stick them in soil and you have a live plant right away.

If Gin is used, the winner can ask for additional 3 cuttings/varieties from my current or prior auctions (including this one). If you are interesting in certain variety, please ask for availability before placing GIN

Aeonium 'Zwartkop,' aka Aeonium 'Schwarzkopf goes by several common names, including “Black Rose” and “Large Purple Aeonium”. It is a remarkable succulent which forms clumps of 3-4 foot tall gray-brown stems that often branch near their base. The long, bare stems hold large terminal rosettes of very dark purple (seemingly black) leaves. Yellow star-shaped flowers that contrast well against the dark foliage form in long conical clusters from the center of the rosettes of mature older plants.
Questions & Comments

Thanks to all who is watching and bidding on my auction. I was doing some research and found something that I thought I should let all of you know. Although many people and even nurseries call this 'Black Rose', they are not exactly the same plants.

A. 'Black Rose' is similar to Aeonium 'Zwartkop'. Dark tones, almost black with highlights of ruby red splashed throughout the leaves. If left to grow the plant becomes quite tall, taking on a palm appearance.

I have one of these in my collection, the rosettes look practically the same, but I couldn't get another branch for years... And it more deeper purple, almost black.

This auction is for A. Schwarzkopf, the plant shown in the picture. The growing habits as I described in the original post.

Happy bidding and gardening to everyone!!!
