This popular old-fashioned variety produces cup-shaped flowers on a flat, saucer-like base. The single and double flowers bloom in soft shades of blue, rose, and white in summer. Sowing Instructions
Sow in late spring/early summer outdoors in a well prepared seed bed. Sow the seeds very thinly in drills 6mm deep, 15cm (6in) apart.
Growing instructions
Transplant the seedlings before they become crowded 15cm (6in) apart into a reserve border for the summer. Plant out 38cm (15in) apart where they are to flower.
Aftercare
For a greenhouse display in the summer pot up a few plants into 8in pots in the autumn and place in a cold frame or slightly heated greenhouse for the winter.
