The listing, Genuine Antique Victorian/Edwardian Opal 5-Stone 18K Yellow Gold Ring Hallmarked 1900 GORGEOUS! has ended.
Up for consideration is a truly beautiful antique opal 5-stone ring. This ring is fully hallmarked and was crafted in 1900 in Birmingham, England. There is a maker's mark of C.A.M, but I have not been able to identify who it was.
It features 5 oval cut opals that are full of life with flashes of blues, greens and oranges. The stones are set in gleaming 18K gold, very elegant. This ring would make a lovely wedding or anniversary ring, or a beautiful right-hand ring as well. It is in great condition for its age, although the center opal does have a tiny dark spot that is visible, but it isn't really noticeable unless you are looking right at it. This spot is part of the natural opal, and I've always thought of it as its birthmark. LOL
The ring weighs in at a substantial 4 grams. It is size 5, but it can be easily resized. If you do decide to have it resized, just make sure the jeweler cuts in between the hallmarks and the maker's mark--there is plenty of room to do this. Keeping the hallmarks in tact increases the value of the ring should you ever want to sell it.
