Does well even in zones 6 and North in full sun for optimal growth.
Sow in April or May or in Early Spring as soon as the soil can be worked.
Onions require a fertile well-drained so, sandy loam soils are ideal but raised beds or raised rows are recommended if you have heavy soil.
Sow in a 2" wide band about 2 seeds an inch, sow 1/4-1/2" deep. Rows should 12-18" apart.
Later thin to1 1/2-2".
Thin to 4" for larger Onions.
