Yes I think it would fit a woman's thumb. I wear a size 6 on my ring finger and an 8 on my middle finger, and I'm sure I could wear it on my thumb if I stretched it out a bit. It is open in back like a toe ring, so it can be made bigger or smaller. Right now it is around a size 8 or 8.5. :)
