Here's a power-rookie card from 1970, featuring two rookies who both went on to 1970s stardom.
Vida Blue is best known for his 1971 season, when he won both the Cy Young and MVP Awards behind an astounding 24-8, 1.82 ERA campaign, but Blue was no one-season pony. He won 20 or more twice more, and his 18-10 2.79 ERA campaign in 1978 was good for 3rd in the Cy Young vote. A 6 time All Star, Blue would go on to win 209 games in his career while posting a respectable 3.27 ERA.
Tenace was a major power source during the 1970s; between 1973-1979, Tenace smashed 152 home runs, and hit over 200 for his career. His bat was a major force behind the A's 1970s Dynasty.
