Not sue what 925 is but it's sterling silver I believe. I've washed my hands with it on and it hasn't lost color

925 is a stamp that's inside the ring and it means it's silver. However, if the piece is old enough or depending on the maker, there may be a "maker's mark" on the inside of the band of the ring. Does it stick to a magnet or turn your hand green when getting wet? That's another test. Either way, the ring is beautiful!

It doesn't stick to a magnet nor turn your hand green. I also checked the 925 thing and it does have one.
