Questions & Comments
There certainly a LOT of people who need to read up on flag etiquette. I see flags flying that are tattered and torn, tangled up around the flag pole and not straightened, caught up on porch roofs, etc. It makes me want to go knock on their door to enlighten them.
I am afraid that today's general public care nothing about the flag! The national anthem. The pledge of allegiance. But, oh boy: the cell phones!!!! Texting!!! Computers. Guess some of us are just too old!!!!!!
No, not too old, we are committed to stand tall as Old Glory passes by either with a salute or you right hand over your heart. If you are a male not in the military uniform, you must remove your hat. I'm female and not in the military but I take my hat off for that Grand Old Flag. When someone else sings a solo of the national anthem at some event, I sing too. Americans are getting far too lazy about singing it. We should be proud to have the privilege of singing it and the freedom to do so. I've noticed when I've watched the Olympics, whether it's a Russian, a Norwegian, a Polish person, they sing their anthem loud and strong showing respect for their flag. It's a shame that Americans can't even sing it in a huge group. The Old Glory has brought us a long, long, way from b where she first started. She has the right and deserves to be honored. For me to stop honoring her, I will have to be dead.
