About an orphan girl who is forced to leave her sick grandmother and live with her bachelor uncle. Although Uncle John protest, Fanny moves in along with her pet skunk, Broccoli. At first, the new roommates find this situation difficult. Uncle John is all business as he practices for his upcoming organ competion. Fanny adding stray animals to her ever escaping collection. The authories want to place fanny in foster care. Then uncle John realizes how empty his life has been without her.
