Why does this need steam to play and what is steam in the first place? Do you have to play these online or can I play it alone? Does this work with windows 7? I know it's a lot of questions but I've gotten games I can't play for one reason or another and don't want to make that mistake again. Thank you for your troubles.!!.

Steam is free and Doom 1 and 2 are in the Doom 3 game

First, you can play on Windows 7. Steam is a downloadable app for Windows. It lets you buy games and Doom 3 installs to Steam.

So I have to download the steam app before I can get the games? Do I get cd's or just a download? If I get cd's the steam app on my computer is where it installs the program? Sorry for all the questions but I'm computer stupid. Can't I just install the games into my games file? Where do I find the steen app?

I bought the game used so it should work and there was no steam key. It just installs.

Those two statements about you buying it used and there was no steam and it installing to steam are contradictory. It's either one or the other. Does it install without steam or not? You say it works in windows 7 but all the games I've bought from wal-mart I just put the disc in and press install and it goes into my games folders. I don't have that steam app. If I'm going to buy a used game I've got to know I can use it. And for free without internet.

Is the steam code valid or was it used? I bought 2 games on here that needed a steam key to install the disc and they were already used .
