It doesn't scan. It's only a printer. It's a photo printer (but you can print normal things if you wish) max resolution is 4800 x 1200. Can print all sizes of paper from 8x10 to 4x6. It has a multicard reader to read most types of camera cards without the need for a computer. you can print pictures from a card right from the printer screen. It can be wireless with the use of a blue tooth dongle (witch is just a little usb thing you plug into the front) I am including this with the auction. NOTE: if your computer doesn't have bluetooth you will need one of these for it also (I've seen them for 2.00 online). I have printed from my iphone directly to the printer using the bluetooth - you will need the print magic app to do this (its free in the istore). It takes 2 cartridges onhe photo and one color. These run about 15.00 to 30.00 for cannon brand and less for generic. Printing speed is very fast for non photo. I had mine set to normal quality in the software setting, and changed it when i needed to print a photo. I have had many hp printers and they print great pictures, when i turned up the settings on this to print a photo, printing took awhile, but it was the best i have ever seen. The drivers and manual for this are avail on cannon's website. It supports windows 98 up to windows 7 and most MAC operating systems.
