I just answered your private message (PM) but here is the explanation again:

When you placed a bid, this "locked up" your credits. As long as you are the high bidder, you can't use those credits to bid on other listings.

However
As soon as you are outbid your credits will be "free" and available to use again. I am sure someone will outbid you in a few days, so in the meantime try to earn more credits (list something to sell) so you can win these or any other listing you like!

You also will learn that most popular items get a LOT of bids in the last few hours or minutes of a listing, so you won't know if you won until the listing ends. And even if you are the high bidder, you could very well get outbid at the very end of the listing.

I know Listia can be confusing when you are new, but hang in there ... it gets easier!
