The listing, Beautiful Antique (w/gold plating) China Platter and Covered Bowl has ended.
Very old, beautiful pieces of "Bridal" pattern, Cleveland china. Platter and covered bowl. Platter measures approx. 14"x10". Covered bowl is round, with a diameter of approx. 9". There are no chips or other similar damage on these pieces. The gold rims and gold plating on bowl handles are 12 carat gold. There is some wear of the gold rimming on the inside of the bowl, but the platter rim is just about perfect.. There's a little wear of the gold on the bowl handles. The pieces do show the "crazing" (fine delicate criss-crossing lines (I hope that this shows in the pictures) that I think are called "crazing", and you can see a few areas in the pictures of, well, i don't know what to call it, perhaps discoloration. I don't like this word because it sounds like a defect but is just a part of the aging process of some types of china. As I approach my senior years, I do not like to think of my signs of aging as defects! I have tried to find out more about the history of this brand and pattern of china but so far have found very little. I came by these pieces when we operated a nonprofit thrift store (to help animal rescues pay their veterinary bills). We had to close the store because I was too ill (fibromyalgia) to keep it going. Most of what was left was donated to other local charities, but these pieces were so lovely I bought them for myself. I just have never been able to use them.
