OK - shipping is a little more "pricey" than anticipated - so here's the deal:
If bidding reaches 2500 I'll pay 1/2 the shipping, if bidding reaches 3500 I will pay entire shipping charges. Shippings costs about $15.00

Hi Again!

The shipping charges don't "surprise" me. What does surprise me is that the Post Office is going bankrupt with all the fees they charge. I know they have taken a big "hit" with all the on-line banking, internet cards, etc. But, there are so many "add on" charges (envelope size, thickness, rigid object inside envelope, hand cancel, insurance, delivery confirmation, etc.)

I would imagine the bidding might go over the 2500 credits. But, let's say "worst case scenario" and it only goes to say 2499...lol, (sorry), would you be willing to trade extra credits to cover the $15.00 shipping? If so, how many credits do you think would cover it? I'm pretty new to Listia; so, I don't know what's allowed and what's not allowed. Just thought I'd ask. Thanks.

have you made any headway on the credits in exchange for shipping? I thought I saw a post on a different auction where someone suggested doing that because the lady didn't have PayPal (rather than sending money through the mail, although apparently many do send it that way - kind of "risky" to me.) I'm just not sure how you add that to the ending credit total through Listia. Hopefully, you'll find something out in time for me to bid. Thanks again. Jeene

Since I'm very new to this, what is a "GIN"? (thanks) What I was asking is, "Instead of paying the shipping fees could credits be paid to the Seller to compensate them for the shipping fees.?" I read a blog on this site saying that Listia figures 10 credits = $1.00. Since the Post Office doesn't take credits, I personally feel the amount should be double or triple (or whatever the Seller feels is acceptable to them). But, I didn't know if it's allowed or how you go about it. I hope that's clearer. There may be a reason not to do it that I'm just not understanding. Thanks. Jeene

Just keep coming back to site. It will become clearer. I don't know why Listia says 10 credits = $1.00 but that's not exactly how Listia users look at it. You have to decide for yourself how many credits are worth what value. To each thier own. Keep watching, bidding, & enjoying!!! Have some fun with it!!!

Gee! I guess "never mind" I just saw the credits, so the shipping issue is "mute". These credits look much "healthier" than yesterday...congrats...lol...Jeene

Have some Happy Holidays! Read my other response. & NO we don't mind paying the shipping fees - the Listia spirit is to pass on stuff we don't use anymore to people who can use it & get some credits in return to get stuff we can use! That is the spirit of Listia! (and we have fun and meet lots of friends doing it).

I would still like to know what a "GIN" is. Thanks. Jeene

Sorry! I was in the same boat about GIN! I thought it was a bunch of drunks bidding against each other lol lol lol! What it really is the "GET IT NOW" price that sometimes is offered rather than going to auction. GIN stands for GET IT NOW.

Duhhhhh!!!! I really feel "lame" now...lol...I should have been able to figure that out. So, the "GIN" can only be offered at the beginning of the auction? I think I read some where that once the bids reach a certain point the GIN is no longer available. Is that correct? Thanks. Jeene
