I don't know how long ago this cross came on the market--"when it first hit the stores"--but if it wasn't around when I was young, my mother owned the spitting image of it! My family is still reeling from a tragedy, which first brought the memory of my Mom in her cross back to me. I remember when she tucked me in I would watch it sway slightly when she bent over to kiss me. Watching the metal as it reflected the light in a dull sort of way--I don't mean it didn't shine, but that the way it threw the light back was warm and held a glow(I don't want to sound all mystical and magical but I now know it was a talisman for me, always seeing it swing like the pendulum of a comfortable old clock ticking the night house. Both are noticed by their absence. Then the magic stops. I also just reached the age of my mother's when she died. And I just found Listia a week ago and dove in any spare moment I could find. Which is why I'm in 43 auctions, so I have to go. I'm going to win that cross because my wonder at simple metals became a love for jewelry and, for two weeks years ago I made jewelry in a small class. And loved it. But the expense in getting set up…too much for this guy. Anyhow, now I have to go. Eric
