FREE: Wild Violet live root!

While digging up the wild area of my new yard, I've unearthed a big pile of beautiful, unkempt, deliciously edible plants that deserve to go to new homes. Why not share?

This auction is for at least one healthy, live, wild violet rhizome. It plants much like a bulb, but will spread easily.

The wild American violet is beautiful, but highly invasive. Luckily, it's also delicious! The flowers and stems are slightly sweet, making them a great addition to fruit salads and deserts - I've made pints of violet syrup for baking and cocktails this year already, and candied some for cakes.

The leaves are great too! People have said that they are good cooked, but I only eat them raw. They are amazing as a salad and on sandwiches, and the leaves basically taste like a cucumber flavored lettuce. Better and cheaper than anything you'll find in the store :)

These grow great in partial sun and even deep shade.

As these are live plants, I will only ship early in the week so that I can be sure they don't end up sitting in a hot post office over the weekend! For the same reason, I can not ship these internationally. Please plant them quickly.
