Many people collect wooden nickels. I've had a small accumulation since I was young. However, I recently came upon this silver one and thought it was really unique! The reverse says "Good for a FREE AD in the NICKEL want ad newspaper. 15 words private party Hermiston & Pendleton, Oregon". The picture makes the variations in the paint, caused by the wood grain, look like black marks. They really are not because when you tilt the nickel certain ways you can't see the marks. There is a small rub mark on the front edge which does not detract much at all. If you like wooden nickels or advertising items this odyssey is for you!
